Formed in 2006 Finchley Flyers AFC joined the Watford Friendly League becoming Champions of the U8 Green Division in their maiden season. The team enjoys a fine reputation for the quality of its play and sporting attitude. Coaching sessions are planned very precisely and take the boys through the 'Four Corner' programme recommended by the FA. The coaching emphasis is always based on quality of play rather than results, we encourage our players to express themselves and be comfortable in possession of the ball at all times. The team is coached by Lee Sollory and Julian Gonnermann who both hold FA qualifications.

Finchley Flyers 1-4 AC Finchley

An understrength Flyers side were well beaten today by local rivals AC Finchley. Both teams played well in the first period creating a very entertaining game. A lack of concentration at the back gifted the AC side a goal within a minute before Stephen Simmonds ended a fine move created by Tom Woodall and Ethan Wilson. The Flyers went close several times but a static midfield gave the ball back to AC almost every time until they eventually took the lead and ran out worthy winners.

Special mention should go to Sam Brazier who once again showed his class and bravery.
